Great drive

Strengths: Quiet, effecient and affordable

Weakness: not a huge drive, wish I could have gotten a larger drive with the same strengths.

This is a great system drive. I use a larger drive for "my documents" and can always get by with a smaller drive for programs. The five year warranty can't be beat.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 ST3160811AS 160 GB Internal...

Strengths: Whisper quiet, fast access. Outstanding warranty! Upgrade from 40Gb hd. I definitely recommend Seagate when it's time to replace your smaller or aging hd.

I had this installed and imaged for around $70. Unable to do myself due to physical limitations. Very happy with the drive. Replaced a 40Gb oem Western Digital. So quiet! Makes you wonder if it's even running sometimes! Very happy with my upgrade. Recommend 100%!

Good Drive

Strengths: Slim line, 5 yr warranty, fast data transfer

Weakness: none

Got this for $40 after rebates. It is replacing my 80GB SATA1 drive for more space. Better airflow with the slim design. Good long warranty on a quality drive. Seagate has the longest warranty which should outlast several systems.

Seagate Has Earned the Respect of This Loyal Western...

Strengths: Fast performance. Quiet operation.

Weakness: None.

I have always used and liked Western Digital hard drives. The only previous experience I have had with Seagate was with a defective SCSI-2 drive that gave me many months of sporadic problems before I sent it back to Seagate for replacement. Now, many years later, I was lured in again with Seagate's five year warranty when it was time to install a drive in my new system. In an age where one year is the standard for hard drive warranties, Seagate stood out with its effort to stand behind their quality. Serial ATA technology is much improved over Parallel ATA so it was no surprise the drive would be fast but it is amazingly quiet as well. I purchased my drive from CompUSA which sells these drives for around $40 after rebate. I highly recommend giving these drives a look when it is time to upgrade or replace your drive.

how easy can it get

Strengths: faster hard drive, easy setup, cd with install wizard

Weakness: none

I purchased this to expand my current hard drive but due to its speed I installed it as my primary hard drive. I recommend it for a good upgrade to any older system.
