Strengths: Quiet, easy installation, fantastic "bang for the buck."
Weaknesses: If you're looking for a high performance drive, this is not the one. Otherwise, none.
Review: Overall, a good drive for most systems. I have it installed for additional storage and occasionally use it in a USB container. The drive performs very well for a reasonable cost. Like most components, if you want extreme performance, you'll pay a lot more. Nice long warranty, too!

Strengths: Fast 7200RPM, ATA100, QUIET
Weaknesses: A small pricing premium
Review: Get a Western Digital or a Maxtor, you'll really hear the difference. I've had 4 7200RPM hard drives before, but this one is just amazing in terms of speed and quietness. It does have a slight premium, but you pay for what you get. On top of that the 3 year warranty is so much better than the others ones that last only 1 year.

Strengths: Seems stable and fast. Installation disk made setup a snap.
Weaknesses:  Not sure whether I can use this when I upgrade my computer next year. Tried transfering OS from my 60Gb to this harddisk but failed because NTLDR...
Review: Bought this to replace my 60GB harddisk. So far no complaints except that I couldn't transfer my OS due to missing NTLDR. Kit came with screws and ribbon. Did come across some negative reviews of this model elsewhere, but with a 5 year warranty, that's something none of the other HD manufacturers offer.

Strengths: Large size, cool temperature, and very quiet operation - topped off with an industry leading 5 year warranty.
Weaknesses: Speed.
Review:  I swapped my IDE version for the SATA version in hopes that the speed issue would be resolved - it wasn't. The following review is a copy and paste since nothing has changed. Review: This drive is considerably faster on the benchtests from standard SATA drives. Seagate makes an excellent product and stands behind them with a 5-year warranty. Loaded with Windows XP faster than before with using SATA II drives. I liked them so much I built a server system using these SATA II drives in a RAID 5 config. Worked awesome with significant cost savings over SCSI drives.
