Good performance and quietStrengths: Fast for bulk reads, silent, Seagate history of reliability Weakness: None for its intended use Seagate is one of the more reliable hard drive manufacturers I've encountered since my first encounter with one of its drives over 17 years ago. This SATA drive does what it is intended for very well. Installed in a new rig (AMD x2 4400+, A8N-E, eVGA 7800GT, OCZ Elite Platinum 2GB, Hiper Type R 580W) and got it going with no fuss. Windows installed quickly along with my work related stuff like...

Runs cooler and quieter than Western DigitalStrengths: Beats the socks off of Western Digital Weakness: None so far This one beats the Western Digital equivalent by a mile. The equivalent is the WD Caviar SATA/II 7200RPM 160GB WD1600JSRTL. - Runs cool, around 50C; 62C for the WD - Thinner than the WD - Lighter than the WD - Quieter than the WD The only thing I haven't tested is the speed, but looking gat the specs they're about the same. Looking to obtain a second one to set up a RAID

Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 160GB Hard DriveStrengths: Real Fast Weakness: I have found none I found this drive very easy to install. This is the first Seagate drive I have purchesed. I was always a Western Digital Guy. My brother told me to try this one and I am glad I did

Ultra performance, Long warranty, super cool and...Strengths: Runs very cool and quite. Comes with 3 years seagate warranty. Weakness: none I got this HDD during compUSA thanks giving sale and I am very happy with this purchase. This is my first seagate. It is smaller than western Digital, it runs very cool and quite. The performance is real good. I can't think any issues with this Hard drive.

No complaintsStrengths: fairly fast Weakness: None Was very simple to install. I would maybe have like to see them skip supplying the SATA cable and drop the price a little more, since I now have extras since my motherboard came with all the SATA cables I will ever need.

Runs quiet, cool, and fast. 5 year warranty, best in...Strengths: This drive is about 1/3 thinner than standard 3.5 inch hard drives, perfect for smaller cases where space and heat buildup is an issue. The drive is so quiet, I can barely hear it even with case open Weakness: Drive takes 5 to 10 seconds longer to spin-up and reach operating temperature than my old 7200.7 PATA 200GB Seagate. Be sure to keep your invoice and serial number sticker. The retail box clearly shows a 5 year warranty. When I checked warranty status at www.seagate.com, it showed only one year. My drive came with a Seagate Disc Utility CD for partitioning, formatting and disk cloning. It transferred a working copy of Windows XP to the new drive in under 5 minutes. It would have taken 2+ hours to install...

Great drive that I got at a great price!Strengths: Quiet, and high quality. Weakness: None As the title says, extremely quiet. I can barely hear it running, although noisy drives don't bother me that much. I always trust Seagate, they make high quality drives. Also easy to install as always.

Fast, Cheap HDStrengths: Price, Speed, Seagate Weakness: None yet! I bought this Hard Drive for a new system build I was doing. I got a good deal on it, it worked right out of the box, and it was fast. Everything I hoped for. And it has a five year warranty! Seagate is the way to go in my opinion.

Fast and QuietStrengths: Very fast reading and burst speed; Not much noise; 5-year warranty Weakness: Runs hotter than my old PATA drive This is my first SATA harddisc. It's actually SATA Ⅱ. But since my mother board doesn't support it, I downgraded it to SATA and it works fine. It took me sometime to figure out how to install Windows XP on a SATA drive. A floppy and SATA controller driver from Motherboard manufacturer did the trick and the setup was successful. The reading and burst speed seems to be faster than my original...
