Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 200 GB Internal Hard Drive...Strengths: Faster than IDE drive. Quiet. Weakness: None This hard drive has a 5-year warranty and that's the main reason I bought it. I had a maxtor 160gb died in 4 months of use so now I'm considering the warranty when I buy new hard drives. This drive is fast and quiet. Highly recommended.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 200 GB Internal Hard Drive...Strengths: 5-year manufacturer warranty. Super fast speed and very queit. Affordable price. Weakness: The only complaint is that this HDD conducts heat more than my other HDDs. Great purchase. Can't beat the 5 year warranty. Very fast and relatively quiet. The only complaint is that this HDD conducts heat more than my other HDDs. My case temp went up about 2C, but other than that it's a very good buy. This drive is definitely worth your money

I do audio recording, and low noise levels are critical. Actually, you can look at and/or feel the drive and tell it's a cut above. SG

Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 200 GB Internal Hard Drive...Strengths: Operates very quietly and accesses data quickly Weakness: It is somewhat pricier than many other hard drives of equivalent sizes and speeds (but none are quieter) You can barely hear this drive when it runs. It's quieter than may power supply and case fans. I've owned another Barracuda for over a year and the performance and silent operation led me to purchase another one. I've found it to operate at a comparable level. I'd certainly purchase it again.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 200 GB Internal Hard Drive...Strengths: Quiet. 5 year warranty??? Amazing. Weakness: none Since 1992, I've owned Quantum, Maxtor, IBM, Hitachi, Western Digital, Seagate and a bunch of other drives. Seagates have never failed me. I cannot say this for most of the other brands I just mentioned. They are rock solid for heavy audio editing (I use mine in a recording studio). This drive has been used heavily and it is rock solid.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 200 GB Internal Hard Drive...This is the second Seagate hard drive I bought in the last 6 months. Choose Seagate again because they have excellent on-line self support. Diagnosis tools helps you monitor the condition of the disk, setup software are helpful during initial installation. In the event of bad sectors, just run the on-line tool, it will issue a RMA number and send the replacement drive. Very good warranty support...

Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 200 GB Internal Hard Drive...Strengths: Patent Bearings make it very quiet, perfict for an HTPC 3 yr warenty Weakness: None so far... Came in a simple blastic container with nothing other then the hard drive. Make sure you have your own set of SATA cables and power adaptors and screws so that you can install the HD without any problems.

Obnoxiously loud drive
Strengths: Very quiet at idle
Weakness: Incredibly loud during activity
I bought this drive a couple days ago for my HTPC and I'm debating whether to sell it or try exchanging it through Seagate. I simply can't believe how loud it is during seeks. You can literally hear it everywhere in the house. It's not usable for HTPC purposes, which is sadly disappointing since it's advertised and reputed to be a quiet drive and that's why I bought it.
