fast and quiet SATA hard diskStrengths: fast, quiet Weakness: none so far as its predecessors, this hdd has the feature of quietness. and thanks for its large single plate capacity, it is fairly fast. seagate has a 60 months warranty. so i will not be bothered by the 7200.8 series discussion on its higher failure rate ( i used it for 3 months plus and met no problem.) wish this be helpful to you.

Seagate Barracuda 300 GB Internal Hard DriveStrengths: Quiet, fast, 5 year warranty Weakness: None The drive is very quiet and fairly fast. The Seagate offers 5 year warranty. I have purchased many Seagate drives in the past and even when they failed, the replacment was painless.

Seagate Barracuda 300 GB Internal Hard DriveStrengths: Warranty. It's Seagate. Weakness: None. Nearly the best value on the market out there. Fast transfer rate, quiet, bullet-proof. Never had a problem with a Seagate drive. Would've bought the 400g model had the dollar-to-gig ratio been a bit closer to this drive. Bought eight at ~$200/ea from ZipZoomFly. Can't get a better deal on eBay.

Seagate Barracuda 300 GB Internal Hard DriveStrengths: Quiet, Fast Weakness: none This drive is faster and a lot quieter than my 250Gb Maxtors and it runs cooler too. I liked it so much i purchased a second drive.

Seagate Barracuda 300 GB Internal Hard DriveStrengths: Very quiet; almost silent Weakness: none 279+GB after formatting for OSX. Two of these drives went into a PowerMac dual 2.0GHz G5. Amazingly quiet operation. Even with the PowerMac's fans just idling along at a "rest" state, the drives are almost silent. I put the Mac on AppleCare (3 yr warranty); with the drives warranted for 5 years, that makes this machine pretty worry-free. (Of course, still need to have a beefy UPS, right?) Yes;...

Seagate Barracuda 300 GB Internal Hard DriveStrengths: Large capacity. Quieter than my stock AMD 64 cpu fan. Weakness: Failed within the first week of ownership. I bought the drive to hold a few large files that I tend to download every so often. I also was in the process of building a new computer, so it would be useful when formatting and reinstalling my OS. After moving all of the files over (about 200 GB) the computer mysteriously locked up and restarted. I never saw the files in Windows again. It took me several days to recover all of the files and...

excellent hard driveStrengths: Seagate reputation, 5 year warranty, quiet, fast Weakness: I think the Bounce Back software is pretty worthless Well, I've had luck with Seagate drives in the past, and I've heard only good reviews, so I went with Seagate again when it came time to add storage. The price (with pesky rebate) was just about right (a little under $0.50/GB). That's about half of what I paid a year ago.

Seagate 7200.8 ST3300831AS 300GB Hard DriveStrengths: Quiet, Fast, SATA, NCQ, 5 Year warranty Weakness: No Molex power connector Quiet, fast hard drive with SATA interface and NCQ. 7200 RPM with 8 MB cache. Pretty standard nowadays. All Seagates come with a great 5 year warranty. Good $/GB ratio. Requires SATA power connector. No Molex connector

Very nice hard driveStrengths: Huge capacity, installation kit included, software included, 5 years warranty. Weakness: Noisy than expected. low data transfer rate This is the second serial ATA drive I got. And this is also the largest hard drive I have. The installation and partition is smooth. And now it is working as the primary drive of my desktop. The noise level is a little than what I expected. The data transfer rate seems not high. I copy 50GB from USB 2.0 external drive to this drive and it takes more than half an hour. I guess part of the reason...

7200 ST3300831AS 300GB Hard Drive
Strengths: Big & quiet
Weakness: Price
The hard drive works great and with minimal noise. No complaints with the drive so far. Wish these things went for about $25 a pop! And there's my thirty words.
