Spinpoint 500gb 16mb 501LJ and 502Ij
Strengths: Cheap
Weakness: Reliability, noise
First drive (HD501LJ) went in 13 months, two other drives in the system (500GB Western Digitals) are still going strong. Samsung replaced the drive with a 502IJ that is formatting as I write this. Problem is it is very noisy - much more so that the first drive. I have this feeling it's going to go bad soon based on the noise. This system (even with 4 fans and 3 drives) was dead quite before.
